Global Semiconductor Industry updates

1. In the first half of 2025, Arrow Electronics reported revenue of USD 14.394 billion, marking a 4% year-on-year increase. After nine consecutive quarters of declining performance, Arrow Electronics achieved positive growth in Q2 2025.

2. OpenAI will build a European data center in Norway and plans to deploy 100,000 NVIDIA GB300 chips by 2026.

3. Samsung has revealed that the Exynos 2600 chip will launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series, becoming the market’s first 2nm chipset.

4. Sharp announced the sale of its Mihara Plant No. 2 to Aoi and will assist in introducing semiconductor packaging lines.

5. NVIDIA's AI computing chips have been reported to contain major security vulnerabilities. The Cyberspace Administration of China has requested NVIDIA to explain the potential backdoor and security risks of the H20 AI chip sold in China and to submit relevant evidence.

China Semiconductor Industry updates

1. The Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission released the "High-Quality Low-Altitude Infrastructure Construction Plan of Shenzhen," aiming to build Shenzhen into the world’s leading low-altitude economy city.

2. Changan Automobile unveiled its first model, the Deepal L06, equipped with a 3nm automotive-grade cockpit chip.

3. According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s IC design industry revenue reached RMB 202.2 billion in the first half of 2025, an 18.8% year-on-year increase.

4. Jiangsu Jixin successfully produced its first 8-inch high-quality silicon carbide (SiC) single crystal using the liquid phase epitaxy (LPE) method.

5. In July, Xiaomi Auto opened 18 new stores, expanding its presence to 352 stores across 97 cities nationwide. In August, it plans to expand into eight more cities, including Baotou and Longyan.
